The motto of Gold Country Chaplaincy is, “You don’t have to go through it alone.”
The Gold Country Chaplaincy is made up of members from your community with a heart to help. We are a Christian non-profit organization. The Gold Country Chaplaincy serves the spiritual, emotional, and psychological needs of businesses in the area, returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan, and fire/EMS personnel. Part of that service includes responding to life and death emergencies within the community.
We come with many years of experience. Our Chaplains have expertise in both classroom and field training. Some have served for over ten years in a first responder role, working with emergency personnel in some of the most difficult situations imaginable. Through all these crises, the Chaplain brings peace in the midst of the storm - an understanding ear with a soft shoulder to cry on, and the strong arm to hold you up when life throws more at you than you can handle.
Gold Country Chaplaincy has been created to “stand in the gap” (I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land… Ezekiel 22:30).
Our Press4hope division serves those in media, giving them a confidential place to go to speak to a Chaplain. Media will show up at the same scenes as law enforcement, and emergency responders. Whereas law enforcement and fire personnel typically have their own Chaplains, media traditionally has not. We are changing that.
There are several groups in the foothill region that Gold Country Chaplaincy is currently serving. The first of these are our returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. As our courageous men and women come back from overseas, they go from a violent environment, where people are trying to kill them, to a relatively peaceful caring situation and people that love them virtually overnight. They need Chaplains, and peer supporters who can come alongside to help them “decompress”. They need someone to talk to that understands what they have been through, and can offer them tools to interact with their family and friends with a healthy state of mind.
It is vital that companies perform at their peak with the current state of the economy. The Chaplain can come alongside employers to offer crisis counseling, stress management, and even help with recruitment and retention of employees. The Chaplain can help make the work place a more healthy and positive environment where people can thrive.
Finally we see the need for Chaplaincy services for our Emergency Medical Personnel which includes our brave fire fighters, ambulance drivers, and other first responders. This has been an underserved area in our community for many years. Most communities have Fire Chaplains that work with Fire Departments to ensure they are healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Chaplains respond to help EMS deal with traumatic calls. They also serve the public after such calls to ensure those types of needs are met. Chaplains are trained in emergency crisis response, and ministry in public safety.
Gold Country Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to work with those in our community who may be going through traumatic loss, such as the death of a loved one. We will compassionately come alongside them so they don’t have to walk this path alone.
We have ministers available to perform weddings, funerals, baby dedications, graduations, or even to fill pulpits as needed.
Chaplain Terry Morgan is available for speaking engagements on a variety of topics, including stress management; critical incident stress; teamwork; and other topics. Chaplain Morgan has many years experience working with first responders, and specializes in speaking to their needs.
As you can see, Gold Country Chaplaincy is committed to integrity, with compassion to serve. Our chaplains are a vital asset to the workplace and community. Our goal is to engage partners who can help us make a difference.
